Idea to Product
I got the idea to do this logo because I play lacrosse so it would be cool to switch around the colors. It was interesting to try to split the different parts of the logo up. The sticks were the hardest to split up from the picture as a whole.
This is what I started with, I gave myself 4 different work spaces to work on. At first I didn't know how many different colors I would use so I eventually worked down to only two squares. On the right, is the original logo I used for the project. Once I put it into vector form I could move around different elements of it. I also changed everything to be outlined in black because the vinyl cutter isn't a printer, it just cuts shapes out of material that is already colored.

Illustrator
On the left it is a picture of everything before I split everything by intended color. On the right is a picture of everything split up between the two boards. On the left is everything that was intended to purple, which is just the general shape and the warriors text. On the right is everything that was intended to be white.

Layering and Application
Everything gets layered with the tape, it just has to get lined up. I was planning to put my decal on my bulletin board in my room It would have been easy to apply since it is a flat surface. I obviously don't have a picture of my decal applied anywhere.
I learned what you could really do with Illustrator. With the key chain or even the laser project stuff I had no reason to start picking apart my images, so this was the first time I really figured out how to do that. I know how to use Illustrator better because of this project. Overall, I liked messing around with what Illustrator could do. It was interesting to see that you could pick out each and every shape if you wanted to.
